Of course if an accounting firm were to make a list of "the ten top perks from Best Companies 2014," it would be for money. No, not a bonus. Well, maybe it's considered a bonus if your wife never really liked you that much anyway:
E&Y's benefits span beyond the living. If an employee dies during his tenure at the firm, the surviving family receives either $50,000 or four months' salary (whichever is greater) within 48 hours of the company being notified.
This is a little, er, morbid but anyone want to email HR and ask about this benefit? Can anyone claim it or do you have to be essential to the firm and not just a warm body?
Definitely makes you think twice next time you're tempted to sigh "if I have to go through one more busy season I will die."
